Even if you do not know it, you are likely to have seen Liam Neeson in a film. This Irish actor has been in so many fantastic films, and been nominated for Oscars and Baftas left, right and centre throughout his career. He is probably best known for playing Oscar Schindler in the world renowned film Schindler’s List (based on the true story of Oscar Schindler during the Second World War), but has played leading roles in Star Wars 1 (the Phantom Menace), The Chronicles of Narnia and Batman Begins. Indeed, he is possibly one of the best and most iconic British actors to have arisen in the last 50 years.
What is interesting about Liam Neeson is that he has remained relatively detached from, what we would usually consider to be, the celebrity lifestyle. It is very rare that he will appear on television or in magazines; usually only when he is promoting a film that he is in. It is no surprise, therefore, that not many people know about his personal life. Liam Neeson was married to actress Natasha Richardson between 1994 and 2009, when she tragically lost her life in a skiing accident. After a fall and a bang to the head, she appeared to be completely fine and was able to stand, walk and talk normally. After returning to her hotel room she was admitted to hospital 3 hours later complaining of a headache. She went into a critical condition about 7 hours after the fall and died 2 days later.
